Business Listing Terms
These Business Listing Terms apply to all businesses, producers, makers and experience providers that submit or maintain a listing on Home of Craft. By submitting a listing application, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these terms.
Home of Craft is an independent discovery and directory platform created to help people discover, explore and support South African craft businesses. Home of Craft does not manufacture, supply, sell or guarantee the products or services offered by businesses listed on the platform.
1. Eligibility
Listings are intended for South African businesses, producers, makers and experience providers that fall within the categories accepted by Home of Craft. Home of Craft reserves the right to approve, decline or remove a listing where it does not reasonably fit the purpose, categories or standards of the platform.
2. Listing Information
Businesses are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted to Home of Craft is accurate, current and not misleading. This includes business names, descriptions, contact details, locations, opening hours, website and social media links, products, services and visitor information.
Businesses should notify Home of Craft when important listing information changes. Home of Craft may edit submitted content for spelling, grammar, formatting, consistency and presentation without materially changing the meaning of the information supplied.
3. Listing Options
Home of Craft may offer different listing options, including Free, Premium and Featured listings. The features, benefits and visibility associated with each listing option are described on the Home of Craft website at the time of application.
Free listings provide a basic business presence on the directory.
Premium listings include additional content, images, website and social media links, WhatsApp contact options and other enhanced listing features.
Featured listings include the benefits of a Premium listing together with additional promotional and visibility opportunities.
Home of Craft may introduce, remove or amend listing features from time to time as the platform develops. Where a material change affects an existing paid listing, Home of Craft will endeavour to communicate the change to the affected business.
4. Pricing and Listing Period
The price applicable to a paid listing will be the price displayed on the Home of Craft website or otherwise agreed with the business at the time the listing is purchased.
Unless otherwise stated, Premium and Featured listing fees are charged for a 12-month listing period from the date the paid listing becomes active. Any promotional benefits included with a paid listing must generally be used during that listing period and do not carry over after the listing expires unless otherwise agreed by Home of Craft.
Free listings do not carry a listing fee but remain subject to these Business Listing Terms and may be reviewed periodically by Home of Craft.
5. Payment and Renewal
Paid listings will only be activated or upgraded once the applicable payment has been received or otherwise confirmed by Home of Craft.
If a paid listing is not renewed, Home of Craft may remove the listing or, where appropriate, convert it to the Free listing option available at that time. Any Premium or Featured benefits will end when the paid listing period expires.
6. Featured and Promotional Exposure
Premium and Featured listings may qualify for additional exposure through Home of Craft newsletters, social media, category pages or other promotional channels, according to the benefits applicable to the selected listing option.
Where newsletter exposure or another promotional benefit is specifically included in a paid listing package, Home of Craft will provide that benefit during the applicable listing period. The timing, placement, format and audience of the promotion remain at Home of Craft’s discretion unless otherwise agreed in writing. Home of Craft does not guarantee any particular number of views, clicks, enquiries or sales resulting from promotional exposure.
7. Images and Content
By submitting photographs, logos, descriptions or other content to Home of Craft, the business confirms that it owns the content or has the necessary permission to use it and to allow Home of Craft to display and promote it.
The business grants Home of Craft a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to use submitted content for the purpose of creating, displaying and promoting the business listing across the Home of Craft website, newsletters and Home of Craft social media channels for as long as the listing remains active or where the content forms part of previously published promotional material.
Home of Craft may resize, crop or make reasonable formatting adjustments to submitted images and content to suit the design and technical requirements of the platform.
8. Products, Services and Experiences
Home of Craft provides a platform for discovering independent businesses and does not act as the manufacturer, seller, supplier or service provider of products, services or experiences offered by listed businesses.
Any enquiry, purchase, booking, payment, delivery, cancellation, refund or other transaction between a visitor and a listed business takes place directly between those parties unless Home of Craft expressly states otherwise.
Each listed business remains responsible for its products, services, pricing, availability, customer service, legal compliance and any representations made about its business.
9. Cancellation and Refunds
A business may request that its listing be removed at any time by contacting Home of Craft.
Because paid listing fees cover the creation, administration and availability of a listing for the applicable listing period, paid listing fees are generally non-refundable once the listing has been created and published.
Home of Craft may, at its discretion, consider a full or partial refund in exceptional circumstances. Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable South African law.
10. Removal or Suspension of Listings
Home of Craft reserves the right to suspend, decline or remove a listing where there is reasonable concern that information is false or misleading, the business no longer operates, the content infringes another party’s rights, the business or listing is unlawful, inappropriate or materially inconsistent with the purpose of Home of Craft, or these Business Listing Terms have been materially breached.
Where reasonably practical, Home of Craft will attempt to contact the business before removing a paid listing and provide an opportunity to resolve the issue, unless immediate removal is considered necessary.
11. Accuracy and Availability
Home of Craft aims to provide useful and accurate information but cannot guarantee that all listing information will remain current, complete or error-free at all times.
Visitors are encouraged to confirm important information such as opening hours, locations, product availability, pricing, booking requirements and visitor arrangements directly with the listed business before travelling, purchasing or making a booking.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Home of Craft will not be responsible for any loss, damage, disappointment, dispute or other claim arising from the products, services, experiences, conduct or information provided by an independently listed business.
Home of Craft does not guarantee that a listing, Featured placement, newsletter inclusion, social media exposure or other promotional activity will generate a particular number of enquiries, visitors, bookings, sales or other commercial results.
13. Privacy
Personal and business information submitted to Home of Craft will be used for purposes related to administering listings, communicating with businesses, operating the platform and providing relevant Home of Craft services and communications.
Home of Craft will handle personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable South African data protection requirements.
14. Changes to These Terms
Home of Craft may update these Business Listing Terms from time to time as the platform, listing options or services develop. The current version will be published on the Home of Craft website.
Material changes that significantly affect an existing paid listing will, where reasonably practical, be communicated to the affected business.
15. Governing Law
These Business Listing Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising in connection with a business listing will be subject to applicable South African law.
